Relaxation Of Ban On Aerial Advertising

Relaxation Of Ban On Aerial Advertising

A new measure was passed in Parliament just before Christmas scrapping the tight controls on aerial advertising.

The measure, pushed through by the Department of Transport, will mean that airlines will be able to sell space on the bodies of their jets to advertise products or services. Illuminated signs can now be attached to aircrafts enabling advertising by night as well as by day, and banners can also be strung from kites and moored balloons.

MPs will call for a debate on the measure this week, as some believe it is an “unwarranted intrusion into the freedom to see the sky.”
