20% of Internet users do not read a daily newspaper according to research carried out by NOP. The research, designed to provide a profile of Internet users, involved face-to-face interviews with a nationally representative sample of 5,660 people aged 15+.

Key findings include;

  • 65% of Internet users are aged 15-34
  • 6% of users are aged 55+
  • One third of users are women
  • Internet usage grows by 10% per month
  • 20% of readers use the Internet – 5% of Internet users read the FT
  • 6% of readers use the Internet – 16% of Internet users read the Daily Mail
  • 11% of readers use the Internet – 12% of Internet users read the Guardian
  • 10% of readers use the Internet – 7% of Internet users read the Times
