Revamps In The Publishing World
The Express on Sunday is to revert back to its old name –The Sunday Express – as from this weekend. The renamed title will feature new sections and a new masthead.
Sky magazine has undergone a redesign in an effort to give it a fresher look. New sections have been brought in with the redesign, as well as new staff members. A new editor, Michael Hogan, joined the title late last year (see Newsline).
The Mail On Sunday is planning to revamp in a bid to appeal to a younger audience. The title, whose sales in December 1998 reached 2,281,506, will launch its redesigned package on 7 March with changes to a number of sections. Also included will be a new tabloid section called Review looking at film and entertainment, political and social comment.
The ES Magazine, a Friday supplement with The Evening Standard , has been redesigned under its new editor Louise Chun, formerly of Vogue. The new ES will have more info bites combined with in-depth researched articles, as well as an eight-page information section. The first new version appears in today’s Evening Standard.
