Leo Burnett has issued a review of media inflation and forecasts.

TELEVISION

TV Revenue is predicted to grow by 6% for 1994, and 5% for 1995, with C4 building on 1993’s success, taking more than the 18.5% share achieved in 1993. However, TV impacts are expected to fall across 1994.

Television sponsorship is currently estimated at £20m revenue for 1993, compared to £12m for 1992. The prediction for 1994 is £30-35m; for 1995 it is £50m.

RADIO

Commercial radio is expected to increase its share of total audience, with revenue increasing approximately 11%.

REGIONAL PRESS

Circulations for regional have been on the decline since the late 1970’s and the trend looks set to continue into the 1990s. Media inflation for regional press is set to rise between 3 and 5%.

CINEMA

Cinema admissions are not expected to exceed the 109m for 1993, but they are expected to stay above 100m. Revenue is predicted to increase from £46m in 1993 to £49m in 1995.

OUTDOOR

Revenue is expected to increase 5% for 1994 and 6% for 1995.
