Reuters first quarter review for 1997 was published today. The company’s revenue rose by an underlying 8% over the same period last year, but the impact of the strong pound turned this figure into a 2% decline. Revenue for the quarter of 1997 was £699 million, compared to £713 million in 1996.
Chief executive, Peter Job, said: “The business is performing much as we expected. We are making steady progress towards our year end target for total sales and installations of our new 3000 range of financial information products.”
