The Government is to review the current list of major sporting events for which TV coverage must be made availble on free-to-air channels. This follows a consultation exercise during the summer on the criteria to be used to consider what sports events should be protected.
A group charied by Lord Gordon of Strathblane and including Jack Charlton, Steve Cram and Michael Parkinson will consider adding events such as the Cricket World Cup, the Five Nations and the Rugby World Cup.
