Richard Webb has stepped down from his role as managing director of UK nationals at Trinity Mirror with immediate effect, as part of a reorganisation.
Mark Hollinshead will replace Webb by combining his current position as managing director of Trinity’s Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail with Webb’s former role.
Hollinshead will now be responsible for the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and The People, bringing together the five national newspapers as well as the digital products under one managing director for the first time.
Trinity Mirror announced a profits warning in June suggesting that annual profits would be down 10% this year due to declining ad revenues.
Sly Bailey, Trinity’s chief executive, planned a £20 million cost savings programme as a result.
Talking about the reorganisation, Bailey said: “The new role will enable our national newspapers to fully embrace the changing media landscape.”
Trinity Mirror said it will be making further announcements about its new management structure over the next few days.
