Rising Sun Too Hot For The Opposition At Quiz Night

Rising Sun Too Hot For The Opposition At Quiz Night

One day ahead of the latest ‘biggest match in English football history’, a sporting contest of a very different type was taking place in the MediaTel Sports Bar.

The second annual MediaTel Group Sports Quiz evening was won by News International’s Rising Sun team last night, pipping the confident defending champs, Opus’ And the Winner is… by just three points.

The NI team of Jono Key, Rob Painter, Mark Goodison and Ryan Coyle owed their success in particular to some exceptional cricket knowledge which saw them win the round and take extra points, having played their joker – the only team on the night to capitalise on their joker points.

Four men and an orangutan, representing ids were just two points further back, and the top agency was BrandConnection’s The Assassin Faced Babies in fourth, six points clear of Starcom’s Roooonatics.

The fun of the evening was added to just a mite more when Germany’s sad exit from Euro 2004 was announced!

The sports quiz evening comes on the back of the successful online predictor quiz MediaTel Group runs from November to May – won this year by Katie Taylor of the Russell Organisation. Both events raise money for Whizz-Kidz – the national charity for disabled children.

Many of the competing teams last night generously sponsor prizes for the online quiz as well.
