RSL Releases Latest BBS

The 1995 British Business Survey conducted by Research Services Ltd has been released. The BBS is the readership and marketing study of the business community in the UK which screens around 70,000 households. Business men and women are identified and personally interviewed. The response rate for the current survey of 56.6% exceeded that of the 1993 survey.

Only 13% of business men claim never to watch Channel 4, and the number of businessmen watching satellite or cable has grown since the last survey. The programme which businessmen prefer more than any other is ‘Have I Got News For You’, with 39.7% claiming to specially choose to watch. 12% of businessmen sometimes choose to watch SKY news and 9% CNN. Both the 9 o’clock news and News at Ten have seen slight declines in viewing since the last survey.

Results also show that businessmen are now taking work home. 22.3% use a portable PC at home and one quarter personally own a non portable PC. 14.1% use a fax machine at home for business purposes and one in ten personally own a fax machine.
