Rugby Viewing – 61% Of Viewing
Unofficial overnight figures for yesterday’s World Cup Rugby show the ITV Network taking 61% share of total viewing for the England v Australia match, 6.3 million viewers; the New Zealand v Scotland match, which was on later, at 2.30pm, attracted 6.2 million viewers, a share of 49% of total viewing.
BBC1, which was showing the England v West Indies cricket match from 11am achieved 1.1 million viewers, a share of 17%. This increased to a 22% share from 1.30pm once Eastenders started; BBC2’s Grandstand, which began at 2pm achieved 2.7 million viewers and a share of 19%.
