Saatchi Europe Chairman To Become New President Of IPA

IPA Logo The European chairman of M&C Saatchi, Moray MacLennan, has been nominated by the IPA Council to succeed David Pattison of PHD Media as President of the IPA.

MacLennan will be expected to serve a two-year tenure from April 2007 if elected at the Special Council Meeting after the IPA AGM on Wednesday 25 April 2007.

The announcement comes at the end of a three-month selection process by the Presidential Nominating Committee.

“Since I have been involved with the IPA I have developed a deep respect for both their role and the people who work there,” said MacLennan. “The prospect therefore of being more involved, especially at a time when the pace of change in our industry is accelerating, is one I look forward to tremendously – apart from the fact that past presidents have done rather a good job and set the bar a little too high!”

MacLennan was elected to the IPA Council in April 2005 and is currently chairman of the IPA Client Services Group. He began his career as a graduate trainee at Saatchi & Saatchi in 1983, and has been worldwide board account director across a range of major accounts.

MacLennan was the youngest board director at the age of 26 before being promoted to group account director at 27 and then joint managing director at 32. He left the agency in 1995 to help found M&C Saatchi.
