Magnus Linklater, editor of The Scotsman newspaper is standing down on July 31. No replacement has been announced.
NEW INDEPENDENT EDITOR
It has been announced this morning that Ian Hargreaves, deputy editor of the Financial Times has accepted the editorship of The Independent, replacing Andreas Whittam Smith. Hargreaves will take up the post on Monday 15 August.
