Scottish Radio Profits Rise To £3.23m
Half yearly financial results released by Scottish Radio Holdings show that pre-tax profits have risen by 32% to £3.23m and turnover has grown by 57% to £13.33m.
Within the group turnover from radio operations grew to £9.32m and profits from Morton Newspapers were up 80% to £673,000. 95% of radio turnover arose from broadcast revenues which grew by 15% : more than half of this revenue was booked in Scotland and this local broadcast revenue grew by 12% over 1995. National broadcast revenue is booked via the group’s sales house in London, MS&M, and this increased by 19%. Local newspaper sales from the Morton group also rose over the year by 8%.
There was also speculation that on the back of these results Scottish Radio Holdings may be looking to expand.
