Scottish Radio Shows Good Growth

Scottish Radio Holdings has announced a 33% increase in pre-tax profits to £9.3 million for the year to 30 September, along with a 32% hike in turnover to £37.4m.

The media group also announced that Downtown Radio and Cool FM , which it acquired in September last year (subscribers see Scot Radio Acquires Irish Station), have so far increased their profits by 73% on the previous year.

Lord Gordon of Strathblane, chairman of Scottish Radio, also reported that group turnover in the first two months of the new financial year is up by 20% in radio, which represents more than two-thirds of its business, and 5% in local weekly newspapers.
