Section Readership Research Welcomed By NRS

The National Readership Survey has issued a formal statement to the news that the COI, Leo Burnett and Express Newspapers are planning their own research into newspaper section readership.

The NRS points out that they have proposed similar ventures to this one in the past but they have been unable to gain full industry backing due to either the methodology or finance not being acceptable to all parties. The NRS does however, stress that measurement of these sections due to the large sums of display advertising revenue that they attract, has to be to the same standard as the main NRS study, otherwise the main survey could be debased.

NRS adds that it hopes the research will help them to find an acceptable method.
