Sega Sponsorship Deal Denied
The Referees Association, the governing body for all FA referees, has denied reports that it has been approached by Sega regarding a sponsorship deal.
According to press articles Sega approached the RA with a view to sponsoring red and yellow cards and even offered referees cash prizes for the most cards produced in one game. Peter Willis, president of the RA, told Newsline that any such sponsorship would be bad for the game and would not be allowed by the Football Association.
