SelecTV Programming Launch

This Wednesday saw the advertising and programming launch of SelecTV, the new national entertainment cable channel which begins on 1st June, broadcasting from 5:00pm till midnight weekdays and from midday to midnight during the weekend.
Alan McKeown, the chief executive of SelecTV, presented a preview of the programming schedule which includes Lovejoy, Birds Of A Feather and Love Hurts, all produced by SelecTV’s own production company. SelecTV also has deals with the BBC, Yorkshire, Central and Anglia Television. McKeown spoke of the philosophy of SelecTV which, he stated “is to produce programmes people like to watch and to show programmes of proven popularity”.
McKeown estimates that SelecTV will have a 70% reach at the launch, but will have a reach of 100% by the end of the year. Interfocus will be handling the marketing and advertising and Scott Lynds will be handling the Sponsorship and Airtime sales. All programmes are available for sponsorship and there will be up to 9 minutes per hour of airtime available for advertising.
