Seven Publishing Launches Delicious New Food Title

Seven Publishing is launching a new monthly food title, Delicious, which will be dedicated to catering for consumers who are passionate about food.

The new magazine, which is the first monthly title to enter the food market since 1989, will focus on creating simple, easy, tasty meals as part of a busy lifestyle. It will have a print run of 250,000 and a cover price of £2. Advertisers in the first issue include House of Fraser, Sainsburys, Wedgewood and Waitrose.

The title is designed to fill a perceived gap in the UK’s mainstream food magazine sector by catering for the key 24 to 55 age range who have become increasingly interested in cooking.

The launch of the new magazine will be supported by extensive marketing activity with above the line ad campaign, in national newspapers, radio and direct mail.

Commenting on the new launch, Seamus Geoghegan, managing director of Seven Publishing, said: “Delicious will be truly unique and is the perfect launch title for Seven Publishing. Every page will be bursting with inspiration and innovation and the contemporary look and approach is exactly what the UK food magazine sector needs right now.”

He continues: “People have become so much more passionate about food and there is not yet a magazine that delivers the style and substance that they want. Delicious has arrived to fill that gap and grow the audience for food magazines. It’s a very exciting start for Seven Publishing and we look forward to more launches in the future.”

BBC Magazines recently revealed it is set to launch a new food and cookery title this autumn, codenamed Project Olive. The title is thought to be one of a number of new launches from the publisher over the coming year and is part of a move to extend its range of products in the food and lifestyle sectors (see BBC Poised To Launch New Cookery Magazine).
