Sex And The City A new report reveals a surge in online searches in the UK, following the film premiere of Sex and the City in London this month.

Internet searches for ‘sex and the city’ has increased by 223% since the premiere on May 12, according to the report published today by Hitwise – an online competitive intelligence service.

The film is set to premiere in New York tonight, a day ahead of its general release in the UK.

With over seven times the number of searches for the term in the UK for the week ending May 17, the report suggests that American interest is yet to take off.

However, the number of hits for the official Sex and the City website shot up in both the UK and the US it was the fourth most visited website dedicated to an individual film in the UK.

A number of associated websites have also benefited from Sex and the City fever, with Odeon Cinemas (www.Odeon.co.uk) appearing in the top 10 sites visited after the official homepage.

Traffic to the Manolo Blahnik website (www.manoloblahnik.com) the exclusive shoe designer has reached its highest ever peak in the US this year, while the UK has seen hits on the site increase dramatically during all the hype.
