Sharewatch: BSkyB Falls On Ball Speculation
BSkyB was seen in focus yesterday, down 1.89% following speculation that its chief executive, Tony Ball, could leave the satellite broadcaster as part of a wider management shake-up implemented by Rupert Murdoch (see Ball Could Depart BSkyB After Management Restructure).
The press has been rife with as yet unconfirmed speculation that Rupert Murdoch’s son James is being prepared to take over the position, such reports have greeted with scepticism in the City.
Elsewhere, Telewest, the troubled cable operator, dropped a further 11.11% following reports its restructuring could take months to complete.
Broader market sentiment was dominated by the Bulls yesterday following positive US inflation data.
