Sharewatch: ITV Partners Rise Despite War Fears

Week on week analysis of the media sector saw Carlton and Granada rising, despite concerns that the ITV partners may lose ad revenue due to the extended coverage of the conflict in Iraq (see ITV Drops Ads From Special News Bulletins). The stocks were seen up 23.36% and 23% respectively.

At the other end of the scale, SMG, the media group which owns Virgin Radio, was seen under pressure on concerns over a wrongful dismissal lawsuit launched by former DJ and media mogul, Chris Evans. The stock was seen down 1.67% week on week.

Trading took a subdued mood last week as traders nervously watched the unfolding conflict in Iraq and the rising number of fatalities.
