Shopping Research In IPC Mags

IPC is in the process of gathering the shopping questionnaires from 18 of its top titles, in the first of four ‘waves’ of a readership survey being collated by the publishing group.

Marketing controller at IPC, Mike Baker, predicted this morning that results from the shopping survey will be available to agencies towards the end of September, as IPC aims to have collated all the questionnaires by August 20. The next wave will be motoring, then holidays and finally finance.

Baker explained that the titles chosen for inclusion in the survey (including TV Times, Chat and Me) were meant to represent as many different audiences as possible, giving a cross section of male and female, young and old readers.

Once all the readership information has been analysed it will be available through IPC, who aim to send hard-copy reports to all interested agencies. The actual cross-tabulations can be accessed by anyone interested in the information.
