Sinyor Resigns From Trinity Mirror

Trinity Mirror’s chief executive of newspapers, Joe Sinyor, has resigned following the appointment of Sly Bailey as chief executive (see Bailey Leaves IPC To Replace Graf At Trinity Mirror).

According to Trinity Mirror, Sinyor is leaving by “mutual consent” after his position became redundant following Bailey’s appointment in October.

Sinyor’s position appeared increasingly untenable after he failed to secure outgoing chief executive Philip Graf’s position and rumours have suggested that he disagreed with Trinity Mirror chairman, Sir Victor Blank, over strategy (see Sinyor Rumoured To Be Departing Trinity Mirror).

Outgoing Trinity Mirror chief executive Philip Graf, commented: “I thank Joe very much for his considerable contribution over the past two years during which time the company has made significant progress in a tough market. We wish him every success for the future.”

Trinity Mirror has also announced the appointment of Phil Hall, the former editor of the News of the World and Hello, as editorial development director of the national newspaper division.
