Sky Television has today announced that its new pay-per view movie service will begin broadcasting on Sky Box Office on 1 December.
The channel will show a choice of around ten recent movie releases each month from a number of film studios, including Buena Vista International Television, Paramountm Polygram, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. Negotiations are also in progress with other studios.
The first films to be broadcast will be Michael Collins, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Chain Reaction and Courage Under Fire. Viewers can order a specific screening through an automated telephone system, with each movie priced at £2.99.
