Sky is set to axe a number of the least-visited sites on Sky.com, including careers, dating and teen channels, following a review of its online business.

The satellite broadcaster said seven sites will close as a result of the review, which account for less than half a percent of total page impressions across Sky’s entire portfolio.

The sites that will be closed are money & property, dating, stars, careers, life & style, Monkeyslum and MyKindaPlace.

Sky claims that less than ten staff, including both editorial and technical workers, will be affected by the move.

Sky.com will continue to feature Sky News, Sky Sports, Sky Showbiz, Sky Motoring, Sky1 and Sky Travel, according to the broadcaster.

A spokesperson said: “In the current climate, we’ve decided to focus on the sites, both new and old, which continue to deliver the reach and scale our 7m unique monthly users expect of us. By continuing to invest behind our core online brands, the Sky portal will continue to grow its digital footprint.”
