Sky Deny Threat To Withhold Sports Rights

BSkyB has denied that it will withhold broadcasting rights to some sports events for OnDigital, like the Ryder Cup and UEFA Cup football, in response to being denied access to UEFA Champion’s League matches.

When contacted by Newsline, a spokesperson reiterated a previous statement made by BSkyB chief executive Tony Ball stating it was ‘unfair that BSkyB is compelled to offer the Premier League to all platforms yet a competitor can hold back on a meaningful product.’
