Sky Eager To Screen Golf Tournament

BSkyB is keen to televise the Benson & Hedges International golf tournament next year despite adverse reactions from the event’s co-ordinators. Director of the tournament, Jim Elkins, claims that if Sky screens it it could lose a vast amount of sponsors and course advertisers. “A couple of years ago our B&H cricket was getting about 350,000 viewers on Sky compared to between three to five million on BBC” says Elkin. He believes that the million pound event will not go ahead unless it is taken on by the BBC.
