Guardians of the Galaxy, Fortitude and True Detective are just a few of the new offerings now available on PlayStation 3, following the addition of Sky’s film and sports services.
After a successful launch on Sony’s PlayStation 4 console, PS3 owners who are also Sky TV customers taking Sky Go Extra or Sky Multiscreen will also now have access to Sky’s live and on-demand content from a range of entertainment channels and Sky Box Sets.
Film fans with Sky Go Extra will have a choice of over 1,000 films, including The Amazing Spiderman 2, 300: Rise of an Empire and Bad Neighbours, while Sky Sports subscribers will have access to the Barclays Premier League, Formula 1 and the ICC Cricket World Cup, amongst others.
“It’s great news that millions of PlayStation 3 owners can now also watch the latest Sky TV content straight from their consoles,” said Sky’s brand director of TV products, Luke Bradley-Jones.
“From our new drama Fortitude to Super Bowl XLIX and Disney’s Sofia the First – there’s something for everyone to enjoy on Sky this Spring.”
Fergal Gara, vice president and managing director for Sony Computer Entertainment UK, said that the move “further enhances Sony’s credentials as the ultimate gaming and entertainment package.”
