Sky Relinquishes Exclusive Rights To England v Scotland Euro Clash
After discussions with the Football Association, BSkyB has decided relinquish its exclusive broadcast rights to the England v Scotland European Championship playoff match at Wembley Stadium. The crucial play-off fixtures were drawn by the FA this morning and pit England against Scotland in two-legs, the second of which is at Wembley on Wednesday 17 November.
Sky has the live broadcast rights to all European Championship home matches of England and Scotland. However, Sky this afternoon said: “We have spoken to the Football Association and Kate Hoey, the Minister for Sport, over recent weeks and again today, and decided that in the unique circumstances of this playoff the decisive match should be available to all TV viewers.”
The vital Wembley match will be shown live on Sky Sports 2, ITV and, for Sky Digital customers, Sky Sports Extra in interactive format.
