Sky Sites Appoints UK MD To Drive New Initiatives For Advertisers

Sky Sites, the world’s largest airport advertising contractor, has appointed Don Sperring as its UK managing director. Sperring joins the company with immediate effect after working in a consultative role since May this year.

Sperring is to implement a strategic overhaul for Sky Sites and he will unveil a raft of new initiatives to agencies, advertisers and specialists by November. Sky Sites says that international travel advertising is enjoying a boom, with revenues up 20% last year.

Commenting on airport advertising, Sperring says: “The medium should no longer be seen as simply another branch of ‘posters’, but as a powerful global communication channel on a par with Time or Newsweek. We provide a controlled environment in which advertisers can communicate and interact with captive, yet elusive, business people and high-spending leisure travellers.”

Alongside Sperring’s appointment, Lee Lawrence has been promoted from sales controller to director of sales at Sky Sites.
