Skysports.com received record numbers of visitors to the site as the football transfer window came to an end last week.
The site recorded 1.7 million unique users on September 1, up by more than half a million on its previous record from January this year.
Skysports.com launched its most widespread football campaign yet last month to coincide with the new season kick-starting.
Sky also recently stepped up activity on its website by launching a dedicated campaign site ahead of golf’s Ryder Cup at the end of this month.
The satellite broadcaster’s most recent financial results show that group operating profit was £ 752 million, in line with analyst expectations (see BSkyB Adds 92,000 New Customers).
Virgin Media and sports network Perform recently announced the launch of an online video player for ITV Sport, The Guardian, News International and Trinity Mirror (see Virgin Media Develops Sports Video Player).
The new e-Player will be dedicated to sports content, with highlights from the FA Premier League as well as other sporting events.
