SM:TV Goes Interactive With KFC

Granada has announced that fast food brand KFC is extending its sponsorship of ITV1’s SM:TV Live to include a new interactive application.
From 16 February viewers watching the Saturday morning children’s programme on ITV Digital will be able to interact with various elements of the show, including Wonkey Donkey and Chums.
Granada’s controller of interactive TV sales, Andrea Lippett, said: “KFC are serious about building their brand’s performance in the children’s market. Making interactivity a key part of their sponsorship of SM:TV Live should really contribute to putting KFC on the radar for kids.”
The programme, which came to prominence under TV presenters Ant and Dec, has seen ratings flounder slightly since the pair left the show at the beginning of December. Viewing figures have dropped from around the 2 million mark at the end of September to just over 1.5 million at the end of December (see below).
