Southnews Profits Rise 6% To £3.37m

Southnews, the publisher of free and paid-for newspapers in London and the Home counties, has announced annual profits of £3.376m, which is up 6% on 1995’s £3.187m. Turnover also increased by 22% from £23.6m to £28.8m.

The Croydon Advertiser Group, which Southnews bought last December for £13m, contributed £237,000 to revenues. Overall the group owns 25 titles, of which 10 are paid-for weeklies and 15 are free weeklies.
