Southnews has reported a 38% year on year rise in interim pre-tax profits from £2.68 million to £3.7 million. Strong growth in recruitment advertising helped lift turnover 14% to £21m.
The regional newspaper publisher said that while it was interested in further acquisitions, it was not prepared to pay the prices being asked.
