BBC One’s Spooks was watched by more adult viewers last night that the first episode of ITV1’s new crime drama, Vincent.
An average of 5.4 million adult viewers tuned in to the MI5 drama series, a viewing share of 25%, compared to an average of 4.6 million for the new programme starring Ray Winstone (22%).
Emmerdale and Coronation Street as always proved a success for ITV1, with Emmerdale taking a figure of 7.6 million adults (42%) and two episodes of Corrie taking over ten million and nine million adult viewers on average respectively (51% and 42%).
Eastenders performed well for BBC One, gaining a 42% audience share in the 8pm slot, an average of 8.6 million adult viewers, whilst on ITV1, Tonight With Trevor McDonald: What Not To Wear?, which focused on the current debate surrounding veils for Muslim women, was seen by 3.8 million adult viewers on average (19%).
