Sport First Plans Saturday Edition

The UK’s only national sports paper, Sport First, is planning to launch a Saturday edition in January, with a possible Monday edition to follow. According to a spokesperson for the all-sport newspaper, it will begin in January, featuring an FA Cup 3rd Round Preview, and the paper is expected to continue publishing the Saturday edition in the new year.

Sport First attempted to launch a Monday edition earlier this year (see Newsline), but axed the project after only a month and a half (see Newsline).

Its circulation is currently 65,564 according to the last ABCs, which shows a fall of 2.2% from last month. The title just appointed its first managing director in the form of Alison Sparshatt; she was previously finance director for the paper..
