Sport First Signs Interactive Sponsorship Deal

Sport First has entered into a co-promotion deal with web-based company, Zoo Media, which will see both parties publicise the newly launched Euro 2000 fantasy league competition – ZOOfootball fantasy 2000. The competition will be promoted in the weekly sports newspaper over 12 weeks in return for placement of banner advertising throughout ZOOfootball.com.

The deal, believed to be worth around £200,000, will see Sport First publishing teaser ads throughout May detailing the launch and competition entry details. Throughout Euro 2000, the paper will run full colour page updates and news of the competition’s progression.

Visitors to the ZOOfootball site will register to enter the competition and will be given a budget of £60 million with which to put together their dream team. Links between the two sites will drive players to Sport First‘s content.

Commenting on the deal Neil Webster, managing director of Sport First, said: “We at Sport First are keen to get involved with interactive projects and this was an ideal opportunity. We hope to bring new people to ZOOfootball.com and we are sure that the banner ads on the site will raise the profile of Sport First within the online community.”
