Sport First Switches To Tabloid

The UK’s only sports-dedicated newspaper, Sport First, is switching to a tabloid format in preparation for the start of the football season.

The paper, which publishes every Sunday, says that its readers prefer the tabloid shape to the broadsheet style in which the paper launched in March this year (see Sport First Set For Launch). Pagination will also increase from 48 to 80 pages from 12 July.

Sport First is planning to roll out to seven days a week, although a Monday edition, launched in May, closed after only a month and a half (see Sport First Returns To One Day A Week). Plans are still underway to introduce Monday and Saturday editions before the end of the year.
