The struggling Sport Media Group owned tabloid titles, the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport, have pulled out of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC).
The Sunday Sport resigned from the auditing body on March 4 after nearly 20 years, while the Daily Sport quit in February after just a year of having its circulation figures audited.
Last month, Sport Media Group decided to cut to value of the two titles to £18.4 million in a bid to offload them after sales continued to plummet.
Sport Media Group bought the two sex and scandal titles for £50 million around 18 months ago and quickly overhauled the Daily Sport, however, the relaunch was unsuccessful and failed to draw in readers.
The two titles reported their last audit in January – the Daily Sport suffered a significant 28.5% year on year decline to around 72,500 copies, while the Sunday Sport was down by almost 19% year on year to 70,700 copies.
