Standard To Sell Hot Tickets On Newsstands

The Evening Standard is to sell its Hot Tickets listing supplement on the newsstands each Friday, beginning today.
The weekly listings guide is included free with Associated Newspapers’ Evening Standard each Thursday. The Friday edition, which costs 85p, is aimed at people who may not normally buy the paper or who have missed the Thursday edition. The Friday Hot Tickets, which is identical to the free version, will be distributed mainly in the centre of London and primarily target tourists.
Kevin Beatty, managing director of the Evening Standard, this afternoon told Newsline that the move was not a trial and that the paid-for Hot Tickets will be produced indefinitely. “We know there is a market in London of people who don’t buy the Evening Standard but who are interested in weekly entertainment listings,” he said.
