Sacked Daily Mirror editor Richard Stott is to become editor of News International’s Today. The post became vacant last week when Today’s current editor Martin Dunn accepted a job at the Boston Herald (Newsline 27/1).
Stott was ousted from the Daily Mirror last November following the appointment of David Montgomery as chief executive. Ironically Montgomery once edited Today. Stott now faces the task of maintaining the paper’s recent and much needed increase in sales.
