Strictly Comes Dancing finale pulls in 12 million viewers

Strictly Come Dancing Strictly‘s spectacular dance-off attracted more than 12.4 million peak viewers on Saturday night.

Over 11.6 million average viewers tuned in to see the final three couples perform their last dances between 6.40pm and 7.55pm, as well as the all-important results show between 9pm and 9.45pm.

Lisa Snowdon was the first to go, which left Rachel Stevens and Tom Chambers to battle it out with one last show dance – Tom Chambers was eventually crowned king at the end of the night.

However, BBC One’s peak audience share on Saturday evening came from the penultimate Outnumbered, which pulled in more than 12.4 million average viewers and a 50.9% audience share between 9.45pm and 10.15pm.

BBC One stole the show this weekend, holding on to the peak audience from 3.15pm onwards on Saturday and from 5.30pm onwards on Sunday, with popular shows such as Casualty, Match of the Day and Antiques Roadshow.
