Substantial Increases For AMV
Abbott Mead Vickers, the UK advertising group, showed substantial increases in its interim results compared to the first half of 1995. Profit before tax has increased by 35% to £4.70m and turnover is up by 16% to £159.06m. Operating profit has also increased by 27% to £4.59m.
The group believe the increases were helped by the acquisition of £122 million worth of new business in the first half of 1996. New clients include Prudential, WH Smith, ICI and the Evening Standard. Success has also been reflected with 68 industry awards won by the group’s advertising agencies.
Looking to the second half of 1996, David Abbott, chairman of Abbott Mead Vickers, believes that growth in spending by clients will continue across the group and new business could reach a record rate if the current trend continues.
