Sullivan Opts Out Of Bep Takeover

David Sullivan has finally abandoned any hope of taking over the Bristol Evening Post (BEP) having made one last attempt in November 1992 (Newsline 20/11). The owner of the Sport has sold his 10.2% stake (1.64m shares) in the regional newspaper company to an unannounced buyer. Sullivan built up his stake in BEP in 1990 but his bid to up the share was later blocked by the Monopolies & Mergers Commission.
