Sun And Mirror Announce Price Rises
The Sun and The Daily Mirror are to increase the price of their Saturday editions by 2p, making The Sun 27p and The Daily Mirror 30p. This cover price increase comes at a time when raw material costs have at last slowed down, after increases of around 70% in the past 18 months.
The price of newsprint has risen by 10% a tonne in January, against the 12-13% increases suppliers had predicted. Newsprint accounts for around 20% of a newspaper’s costs.
