Sun Back To Full Cover Price

The Sun yesterday added 2p to its cover price, bringing it back to 25p, which is what it was before it started the price war in July 1993. This rise in cover price has been attributed to increases in newsprint prices, of around 30% and due to take effect from next month. News International made it clear however, that it intended to keep the price of The Times at 20p.

The Mirror which has resisted making any entry into the price war, has recorded a healthy May ABC of 2,581,017, up 3.2% year on year. The Sun’s latest ABC, of 4,055,476, was down year on year however, by 3.15%.
