Sun Offers Credit Card To Readers

The Sun is today offering its readers a Sun credit card; today’s paper has an application form in the middle pages. The Sun’s card is a MasterCard, backed by the HFC bank, who are the bank behind the GM card from Vauxhall.

The credit card offers no annual fee for the first year, and an APR of 19.9%. The card will also allow users to get free copies of the Sun and News of the World. Points are earnt according to totals spent on the card; if more than £240 has been spent on the card by September readers win points for two weeks free of the Sun and News of the World.

Last year the Sunday Times launched its own credit card, in March, followed by the Express in September. The Sun launches its promotion just one week after putting its price back up to its original 25p.
