The Sun newspaper, which cut its price from 25p to 20p six weeks ago, is to maintain the lower price for the rest of the year because of sales increases. Circulation figures for July were up 133,000 on figures for June.
The Daily Telegraph has joined the price war following the Times’ price reduction in Kent; in the Greater London area books of coupons offering the Telegraph for 25p instead of 48p for 2 weeks up to 1 September are being given out in newsagents.
