Sunday Business Produces Second Issue
Sunday Business published its second issue yesterday despite rumours that the paper did not have sufficient financial backing. The Sunday Business printed all the copies this weekend that it intended to, they told MediaTel today, just under 270,000 copies. The first issue sold just over 145,000 copies. This second issue however, contained just four sections compared to last week’s five; the review style magazine called Business and Fortune has been dropped.
This weekend also saw the Independent appoint a new editor; Andrew Marr, the chief political columnist of the Independent will take over from May 15. Marr, who is 36, was in the original launch team in 1986, as was Colin Hughes, the new deputy editor. Mirror Group also announced that Charles Wilson, Group Managing Director has been nominated as a director of Newspaper Publishing, publishers of the Independent and Independent on Sunday.
