Sunday Business Set For Relaunch

Sunday Business Set For Relaunch

Sunday Business is to relaunch as The Business in the New Year and is cutting its cover price by half to 50p.

The troubled financial title, which recently secured its future by signing a re-financing deal with the Press Association (see Sunday Business Averts Closure), will close over Christmas and New Year but will relaunch on 6 January publishing on both Sundays and Mondays.

The Business will be a single 36-page broadsheet section focussing on breaking business stores and the old sport, personal finance and magazine features will be scrapped. A nation-wide TV, poster and print campaign will promote the relaunch and will focus on the reduced cover price.

Announcing the relaunch a spokesman for Sunday Business said: “The agreement with the Press Association will allow The Business to concentrate its resources on the business content of the paper to ensure that it continues in the traditions established by Sunday Business.”

Shortly before securing the deal with the Press Association, the paper’s owners, the Barclay Brothers, announced that the title would close with the loss of all of its staff unless additional funding could be secured.
